Community Assistance|

CARPC is now accepting requests for assistance with plans or projects taking place in calendar year 2026. All Dane County cities, villages, towns, and nonprofit organizations are invited to request professional planning or technical support for their upcoming initiatives. We have also recently adopted guidelines for completing work outside of Dane County and welcome fee-for-service opportunities in Rock, Jefferson, Dodge, Sauk, and Columbia Counties.

OUR SERVICES

CARPC staff are equipped to assist with comprehensive plans, outreach and engagement, mapping, and data services. We also have experience creating area plans and topical reports on housing, parks and open space, natural systems management, and more. View our services menu for more information.

One of our core roles in the region is to support intergovernmental collaboration. If you’d like to develop agreements or build relationships with neighboring communities, including creating or updating a boundary agreement, we welcome conversation about how we may be able to assist.

RECENT PROJECTS

Recent projects include comprehensive plan updates for the Towns of Bristol and Rutlandcemetery web maps for the Town of Burke, and a comprehensive lake management plan for Lake Waubesa. We are currently assisting Rock County with their comprehensive and farmland preservation plans and will begin the Town of Berry’s comprehensive plan update this fall.

COST

For plans and projects requiring more than 16 hours of staff time, CARPC and the requesting community will define the project scope, deliverables, timeline and estimated cost in writing. The cost of services will be determined based on the estimated number of project hours and hourly rate of staff involved, plus any direct costs for travel and materials.

Projects requiring less than 16 hours of staff time may be completed at no charge, depending on staff availability. We also have some capacity to reduce fees for communities able to demonstrate financial hardship.
