The Greater Madison Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO) is now hiring a Marketing and Communications Specialist. While the City of Madison is the hiring agency, this will be a shared position (25%) with the Capital Area Regional Planning Commission (CARPC).
The Marketing and Communications Specialist will provide professional communications and public relations for multi-modal transportation and long-range planning efforts on behalf of the Greater Madison MPO and CARPC. Responsibilities include designing and implementing social media, marketing, and educational materials; organizing and supporting public-facing events and programming; and developing internal and external communication materials. Under general supervision of the Transportation Planning Manager, work involves the exercise of independent judgment and initiative in the management of projects and activities.
The ideal candidate is an engaging, forward-thinking, creative, and collaborative individual with a passion for communications and an interest in transportation, land use, and environmental issues. The person in this position should be a self-motivated individual who is comfortable taking initiative to advance projects and manage multiple priorities.
