Welcome 2022 Interns

Spring is a time of new beginnings. Here at CARPC, this means welcoming a fresh crop of interns to our team! We are pleased to introduce our new GIS Intern Cora Johnson and our new Planning Intern Erik Heisel.
Cora is working toward a master’s degree in GIS through the UW-Madison GIS Professional Program. She received her bachelor’s in Environmental Science and Geology from Earlham College in Indiana. After working in GIS and planning at the county and state levels, Cora is excited to help with GIS projects at the regional planning level with CARPC. In her free time, Cora enjoys hiking, reading, and doting on her cat, Pearl.
Erik grew up in Elm Grove, Wisconsin and currently lives in Waukesha with his girlfriend Megan. Erik earned his BA in Geography from UWM with a focus on environmental issues and will begin working toward a master’s in Urban Planning and Urban Design at UWM this fall. His professional background includes habitat restoration work, digitizing historical Land Economic Inventory survey maps of Wisconsin, and managing an organic produce department. Outside of work, Erik enjoys outdoor activities like hiking, fishing, and canoeing, along with caring for his two black cats, Ricky and Milo, and two Southern Painted turtles, Dude and Bro. He also has a great passion for music and plays guitar, ukulele, and two vintage banjoleles.
