Jason Valerius, CARPC’s Executive Director, continues his efforts to meet with each of our Commissioners. Recently, he met with Caryl Terrell at Festge County Park, which overlooks the Black Earth Creek watershed, an area shaped both by slow-moving glaciers and fast-moving waters released in the retreat of the last glacier.
After living in New York, Oregon, Dutch Guiana, and Ohio early in life, Caryl found a permanent home here with her husband more than 50 years ago. Over those years she’s been a tireless advocate for planning and environmental protection, including her role in helping establish the Wisconsin Coastal Management Program while working as a planner at the Wisconsin Department of Administration, her 30 years as Executive Director of the Sierra Club, and her service on CARPC and the Madison Metropolitan Sewerage District Board.
Thank you to Caryl and all of CARPC’s Commissioners for your help in strengthening the region by engaging communities through planning, collaboration, and assistance.
