Executive Director Jason Valerius carried on his tradition of meeting with CARPC Commissioners to welcome one of our newest additions, Audra Dalsoren. Appointed by the Dane County Towns Association, Audra brings a thoughtful blend of personal and professional experience to the Commission’s work.

Jason and Audra met at Badger Prairie County Park for a walk and conversation ahead of CARPC’s June meeting in Verona. Their discussion covered the role of regional planning in balancing the competing pressures of growth and natural resource protection—an area where Audra offers deep insight. A Dane County native, she grew up in a multigenerational farm family that continues to farm locally. While her son hopes to carry on that tradition, Audra’s professional path has focused on banking. In her current role at One Community Bank, she works directly with both farmers and developers and understands the challenges each faces.

Audra also serves as Chair of the Town of Pleasant Springs Planning Commission, where she helps residents navigate the mix of local, county, and state regulations that guide land use and protect our natural systems. Her expertise in rural development, farmland preservation, and community priorities makes her a valuable addition to CARPC as the agency continues its mission to support sustainable and equitable growth across the region.

We’re excited to welcome Commissioner Dalsoren to CARPC and look forward to working with her to strengthen the region through planning, collaboration, and community engagement.
