CARPC will expand its administrative leadership in 2026 with the addition of a Deputy Director position. Senior Community Planner & Outreach Coordinator Caitlin Shanahan has been appointed to the role as part of a broader effort to strengthen organizational resilience, leadership continuity, and long-term capacity.

In this role, Caitlin works closely with the Executive Director to help coordinate Agency activities, support internal operations, and ensure continuity across CARPC’s planning work. The Deputy Director position is designed to build leadership capacity within the organization—supporting both day-to-day effectiveness and long-term strategic priorities.

Caitlin brings a strong understanding of CARPC’s mission, programs, and regional partnerships, along with a collaborative leadership style and a thoughtful approach to problem-solving. Her work helps ensure that staff, Commissioners, and partners experience clear communication, steady coordination, and consistent support.

The Deputy Director role also provides continuity during times when the Executive Director is unavailable, helping maintain momentum on projects, meetings, and key decisions. This structure supports stability for staff and partners alike and reflects CARPC’s commitment to strong governance and reliable leadership.
