Review the Draft 2025 Environmental Corridors Report

A draft of the 2025 Environmental Corridors Report is now available for review. An appendix of the Dane County Water Quality Plan, the new draft includes updated background information, clarifications for consistency with current data and practices, and new information related to Voluntary Environmental Corridors (first introduced as Stewardship Areas in the 2050 Regional Development Framework).

CARPC staff prepared the updated report in consultation with a variety of organizations, including the WDNR, Dane County, municipalities, Wisconsin Wetlands Association, University of Wisconsin-Madison, and other subject matter experts. Once adopted, the updated Environmental Corridors Report will supersede previous versions of this report (last updated in 1996).

The Commission will consider adoption of the final draft report at the February 13, 2025 meeting. Prior to adoption consideration, CARPC held a public hearing at 6:00 PM on January 9, 2025, to receive public input on the updated report. Written comments were due to the CARPC office via mail by December 30, 2024 or to tanyas@capitalarearpc.org via email by January 8, 2025.
