Introducing Our New Planning Intern

This St. Patrick’s Day, we feel lucky to have Matthew Krempely, our newest Planning Intern, on the CARPC team! Matthew started in January and is already hard at work helping automate and streamline our information and data gathering processes. With his help, we’ll be investigating new and exciting possibilities for our GIS and online resources.

Matthew is an Urban Planning student from Lake Geneva, Wisconsin. He joined the M.S. Urban and Regional Planning program at UW-Madison after completing his B.S. in Geography, where he conducted undergraduate research investigating tree canopy distribution alongside race and education.

As a former intelligence analyst in the US Navy, he spent much of his time examining the many cities and countries to which he travelled. Drawing on this previous experience, he aims to enrich the American landscape by developing human-centered communities and transportation infrastructure.

Matthew lives in Madison with his partner, Ariel, their dog, Zoe, and cat, Marie.
