Full-Time Position: Geographic Information Systems (GIS) Specialist – Applications No Longer Accepted

The Capital Area Regional Planning Commission is seeking to fill an immediate opening for a permanent, full-time Geographic Information Systems Specialist position. The GIS Specialist works under the supervision of the Environmental Resources Planning Division Director. This person performs independently with lead work responsibilities in cartography and GIS methods, assisting Agency staff with GIS methods, providing map products and data support for reports and projects, updating a variety of GIS coverages, collecting and processing digital data for GIS products, and performing related work as required.
Candidates must have graduated from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor’s degree in geography, GIS, planning, cartography, or a related field, and have a minimum of two years working experience using ESRI’s ArcGIS (ArcMap, ArcInfo and ArcView), including the geodatabase and SDE formats and the Spatial Analyst extensions in a Windows-based environment.
