Meet Zaida Henrickson, CARPC’s first-ever intern through Maydm, a local organization that helps introduce girls and youth of color to STEM fields.
Originally from Madison’s Northside, Zaida is an incoming freshman in the College of Engineering at the University of Wisconsin–Madison. She also spent several years living in Saudi Arabia while her mother taught at a women’s college in Jeddah.
This summer, Zaida is working with our water quality team. She’s especially interested in stormwater management and has enjoyed learning GIS, getting out into the field for road-stream crossing work, and learning from the CARPC team.
Staff Trivia: Zaida’s favorite element is tellurium (with iodine coming in a close second!).
Staff Trivia: Zaida also fronts a band with her friends.
Outside of work, Zaida enjoys spending time in nature, creating art, and organizing community music events.
