CARPC is pleased to introduce Kai Farrey, one of our new Environmental Resources Technicians.
A Madison native, Kai will attend Madison College this fall, where he’s enrolled in the Tree Care Technician program. Before joining CARPC, he worked with Operation Fresh Start, a program that helps emerging adults explore career paths. During his time there, Kai assisted with CARPC’s salt monitoring project in Starkweather Creek, gaining valuable experience in water quality and environmental data collection.
This summer, Kai is supporting data collection for CARPC’s Stream Crossing Inventory Project, which helps town governments identify priority culverts and plan infrastructure upgrades to improve regional flood resilience. He’s also excited to gain hands-on experience with GIS—he’s always been interested in maps and geography, and says, “Being able to work outdoors using these tools is right up my alley!”
Outside of work, Kai loves attending Pop Culture Expos and has traveled across the Midwest for them—meeting hundreds of people, many of whom have become close friends. He also enjoys spending time outdoors cycling and playing sports like disc golf and soccer.
Kai can be reached at KaiF@capitalarearpc.org. Please join us in welcoming him to the CARPC team!
