At the December CARPC meeting, the Commission failed to approve the City of Verona request to amend the Verona USA in the “southwest” neighborhood area. Subsequently, the City appealed the decision to the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources. WDNR will hold a public hearing on Thursday, February 16, 2012 at 1:00 p.m. at the Verona Public Library Community Room, to consider approval of the amendment request (see Notice of Public Hearing here). The Supplement to the Department notice of public hearing may be viewed here.

The January 12 Regional Planning Commission meeting was cancelled due to weather conditions. The next meeting is scheduled for February 9.

Arbitration panel ruling
The arbitration panel has ruled on the County’s challenge to the CARPC 2012 budget certification. Please see the media release here and the award here.

In response to a request by Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources (WDNR), CARPC reconsidered the Southwest Verona USA amendment request at the Dec. 8 meeting. The request failed to be approved.
